Knowing Your Vacation Balance

The current agreement between the City of Madison and Madison Professional Police Officers Association can be found directly below:

 

VACATION BALANCES OVERALL

  1. Ten (10) work days after one full year of continuous service, or,
  2. Twelve and-one-half (12-1/2) work days per year after completion of three (3) years of permanent continuous service, or,
  3. Fifteen (15) work days per year after completion of seven (7) years of permanent, continuous full-time service, or,
  4. Seventeen and-one-half (17-1/2) work days per year after completion of eleven (11) years of permanent, continuous full-time service, or,
  5. Twenty (20) work days per year after completion of fifteen (15) years of permanent continuous full-time service, or,
  6. Twenty-five (25) work days per year after completion of nineteen (19) years of permanent continuous full-time service.
  7. Twenty-seven (27) work days per year after completion of twenty-seven (27) years of permanent continuous full-time service.

 

FLOATING HOLIDAYS

We all get 4 floating holidays that you schedule along with vacation.

 

HOW TO CALCULATE VACATION BALANCES

Using the information from "Vacation Balances Overall" and "Floating Holidays", you add and receive the following:

  1. 10 + 4 = 14 days
  2. 12.5 + 4 = 16.5 days
  3. 15 + 4 = 19 days
  4. 17.5 + 4 = 21.5 days
  5. 20 + 4 = 24 days
  6. 25 + 4 = 29 days
  7. 27 + 4 = 31 days
